Dermablend application question - what am i doing wrong???

I bought Dermablend and know it is supposed to cover really well. The pictures show it covering red birth marks, scars etc., but it doesn't seem to provide very good coverage for me. The colour is matched well, but it doesn't seem to hide even minor perfections very well for me. I'm going to be in a wedding party and get red blotches on my neck when I'm nervous and was hoping this would cover it up, but not even close. I have very pale skin if it makes any difference. Am I doing something wrong or does this just not work for me???

My mom uses Dermablend. It hides EVERYTHING if applied correctly. Use the setting powder first and then apply a thin coat of the makeup. The idea is to layer the makeup so that it stays put and fully covers. It will not work in just one layer. Also, use the little spatula to scoop a little bit on. Put this bit on the palm of your hand, and rub it in a circular motion to make the foundation easier to apply. Applying this in layers with setting powder and you should get full coverage. Hope this helps!

I think it works for some people but not others, not anything your doing wrong. I have lt/md skin tone and it didnt cover anything for me, my friend has fair skin like you and couldnt cover anything, but other people say it covers their tattoos ect... I had mine applied professionally and nothing so I dont know, give up I guess
Reply:call dermablend and ask wut ur doin wrong my mom used that it looked a bit fake but i dunno it depends
Reply:that stuff is SO BAD FOR YOUR SKIN.

seriously.

but if all you care about is coverage... go with mac anyway. its not so... solid. haha.
Reply:Well if you apply it like normal makeup then you're doing it wrong. Dermablend is designed to be patted into the skin. You dab a sponge into it and then pat, pat, pat it onto the are you wish to cover. Add a layer of setting powder then pat some more until you get the coverage you need. It's a layering foundation. If you rub it you will rub away the coverage so don't rub. Always pat it into the skin.
