Would it be ok to use a tanning bed just for 15 minutes each time?

I have very pale skin and it takes me forever to tan. I don%26#039;t have time to sit in the sun and I want to be tan for summer.
Would it be ok to use a tanning bed just for 15 minutes each time?
Not even for 5 minutes! It is absolutely, absolutely hazardous to ur health. It is carcinogenic, and if u are of white race, blond hair, blue eyes, guess what...ur at an even increased risk of developing skin cancer. Tanning is a big NO, NO.
Would it be ok to use a tanning bed just for 15 minutes each time?
A tan is visible evidence of skin damage. Any tan is skin damage, even if you tan in short intervals. Why don%26#039;t you use one of the self tanning creams with a sunscreen and save your skin?
Reply:Okay, you DEFINITELY don%26#039;t want to start at 15 minutes. You will be burned crisp. If you are semi-pale, start with about 5-6 minutes. If you don%26#039;t burn, then go 7 minutes the next day. Just increase by a minute each day. Keep in mind the skin cancer, age spots, and wrinkling effects. Use a moisturizer or tanning lotion before each time. It is better for your skin. Spray tans also work really well.
Reply:Know that any tanning is skin damage. That said, 15 minutes should be OK. Have you tried sunless tanner? There are some great ones now. Banana Boat has a spray on that does not streak or look orange.
Reply:Please don%26#039;t use a tanning bed it can%26#039;t be good for you with all the scares of skin cancer and everything, why don%26#039;t you try Johnsons Holiday Sun which is just a moistruiser which gives you a really healthy glow and its cheap to under a fiver a bottle and it creates a really good tan at zero risk.
Reply:Whenever you use a sunbed, you%26#039;re subjecting your skin to harmful rays that age your skin and can cause cancer. Even 15 minutes is putting you at risk. My suggestion is that you use fake tan, or a moisturiser that has fake tan in it because that won%26#039;t cause any damage to your skin at all and you can still look all gorgeous and tanned. I find that Johnsons Holiday Skin is good.
Reply:yes thats about the normal time for you to stay in.
Reply:Using a tanning bed is one of the worst things you can do to your body. If you want to get tan fast i suggest getting a spray on tan. They don%26#039;t look fake(if you get one from a professional) and they%26#039;re inexpensive.
Reply:I am very pale too. When I was about 16 I went in a tanning bed and asked for 10 min. She left it on for 20 but I got out at 15. I was hurtin bad for over a week. I was scorched. I suffered from really bad dry skin around my underarms for 4 years or so.

After that I kinda stopped tanning cuz I didn%26#039;t want to risk that again. Now years later I accept the fact that I%26#039;m pale and am fine with it. But I am planning on going to florida in august. So in order to not blind everyone down there I%26#039;ll probably get a lite spray on tan.

Start slowly if you really feel like an actual suntan is what you want. Otherwise I would really suggest you try the spray on tans.
Reply:A tan is indeed visible damage to the skin. I would not advise using tanning creams either unless you can obtain a 100% organic solution. I worked in a place where they make these things (and more) and trust me, tanning creams, beauty creams, lotions and especially anti-age stuff is pure poison to the human skin and organs!

Tanning beds have been studied and found to cause skin cancer in extended use. Quite frankly, I%26#039;m surpised they allow their use, but hey, that%26#039;s just part of many things the governement allows so that the medical profession can stay in business.

So what if you%26#039;re pale. If people don%26#039;t accept you for who and what you are then they aren%26#039;t worth being around. Plus, if you don%26#039;t like yourself that way then you should spend a few minutes each day in meditiative affirmations, specifically adoring yourself. You are worth it.
