How do I apply stage makeup?

I%26#039;m going to be in %26quot;The Sound of Music%26quot; at my middle school. I%26#039;m the second oldest daughter. I know how to apply regular makeup really well, it%26#039;s just stage makeup up I don%26#039;t know how to. I tried searching some websites but they weren%26#039;t detailed enough. Can anyone who actually has EXPERIENCE with theater tell me how to apply stage makeup, and try to be pretty detailed. I really especially need help with eyeshadow and eyeliner. (By the way, I have pale skin, blue eyes, and brown hair if that makes a difference) Please don%26#039;t answer this if you just want quick points and your jsut going to say %26quot;o jus put lipstikz on loll!11). I desperatley need help.

go to mac... they pile it on! lol just kidding.

really, stage makeup does not have to look fabulous up close... it just has to be heavy.

apply lots more blush than you are used to, wear a lipstick you would not otherwise wear because it%26#039;s really dark/bright, and apply eyeliner and shadow heavier. use a medium shade shadow on the lid, dark in the crease, and light under the brow.

stick to black for liner and mascara, because you want the intensity of the color to show up. you may also want to draw on brows if yours are not pronounced.

be sure to wear something long-lasting or wear a primer under it all so the stage lights don%26#039;t make you sweat it all off.

i promise it is not hard, and it does not have to be very pretty upclose. take pictures in a trial run to see how it looks.

good luck and have fun!

The reason for stage makeup is so you don%26#039;t look like a ghost under the stage lights. They can really wash you out

So here%26#039;s what you should do....

Ok I%26#039;m assuming you%26#039;re playing Louisa?

First get some powder in your skintone and powder your face very well

Then dust on a little bit of bronzer...it helps give you more of a glow

Look in a mirror, smile, and dust a pink blush on the apples of your cheeks. be very generous with the blush, you want the rosy cheek look for your part.

get some brown eyeliner, black would look a tad too harsh in your situation and line your eyes (oh and make sure to get a waterproof kind, being in plays makes you pretty hot and you get sweaty) Here%26#039;s a video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8svGu-M3-...

Do it on the top and the bottom

Get a tan eyeshadow and put it on your lids... Get an applicator and just cover your lids..just don%26#039;t go too high because it looks wierd

Put on some waterproof mascara and pinky red lipstick and you%26#039;re done!

Good luck, and have fun in the play!
