How can i make ppl believe me when i tell'em i'm from AFRICA?

I鈥檓 white and from Africa.

I wouldn%26#039;t say student at my school are stupid but their so prejudice.

They make fun of me after they ask where I was born

This is exactly how they go

%26quot;Well a good conditioner, a few highlights, and bleu contacts can be understandable but what about your pale skin%26quot;

They disgust me and they just can鈥檛 accept the truth that my birth in Africa was an accident when my teenager mom (45 years old now) went on vacation with her parents with no one knowing she was pregnant.

Not a day would it pass by without those bullies making fun of my beloved country.

Any idea how I can make ppl believe me without inviting them home to see my passport
How can i make ppl believe me when i tell%26#039;em i%26#039;m from AFRICA?
well, you could tell them this story.
How can i make ppl believe me when i tell%26#039;em i%26#039;m from AFRICA?
It seems that anyone who is not willing to accept who you are is not worth the time. Be yourself, find friends who understand you. You will prevail in the long run and be a much stronger and more interesting person than they are.
Reply:Ahh, if they would only pay attention in school. Even if it was not an accident, there are plenty of whites in Africa. I am sorry to tell you, but it may not be worth the trouble to worry with them. If they are so bent out of shape over something like that, then there probably is no convincing them. Try not to let it bother you, they are probably jealous that they don%26#039;t have something special like that to claim.
Reply:Carry around your birth certificate if you really care.

The real solution is to try to develop a thicker skin. Your reaction is exactly what is motivating them to continue. If it wasn%26#039;t teasing you about your nationality, they%26#039;d find something else. Sometimes that%26#039;s how guys interact with each other. Just ignore them and never let them see you reacting to their taunts and it will die down. They%26#039;ll move on to easier game.
Reply:You have told these people at school a few times now, you cannot force people to believe - you can only try to convince them. It seems you have tried that time and time again. Personally, I wouldn%26#039;t bother trying to convince them, it is none of their business where you were born, your race, originality etc.
Reply:Try to speak African.Hope that helps.
Reply:Yikes - I would not care what those narrow-minded losers think. Tell them you were born on Mars. They will probably think you are from Europe then.
Reply:Some people are very ignorant when it comes to the African culture and people, i am from Ghana and i always get you don%26#039;t look African, My answer back to them is what does an African person suppose to look like and that shouts them up. I have learn ed not to feed into that, as long as you are proud of where you come from that is all that matters.
Reply:Worry not about them. Just be yourself and dont get angry easily. Dont waste your energy on making them change, because little you can do about that. Control your stress level and be cool. They%26#039;ll stop when they are tired. Think of them as pathetic a****** who never had a chance to go to Africa. Fullstop!
Reply:Well you could show them your passport at school but other than that just ignore them, they sound too closed minded and ignorant to hear the truth that there are white people in Africa (mostly from old European settlements an in North Africa).
Reply:It sounds odd that you tell people which continent you are from instead of which country. Do not tell people you are an African-American, unless someone asks.
Reply:Show them pictures.
Reply:For the answer, tell them this same story (but use some punctuation, otherwise they might not catch it). Or (if you are really that worried about it) you could just carry around your birth certificate, passport, pictures you may have, and a note from your mom (be sure to get it notorized). But then again I wouldn%26#039;t even worry about these ignorant people that don%26#039;t realize there are also whites in Africa. Now that that%26#039;s outta the way...

1) I wouldn%26#039;t really consider myself FROM Africa (or consider it my beloved country) if my mother was on vacation there when I happened to be born. Have you ever been there?

2) Your teenager mother is now 45? That means you%26#039;re at least 26... I%26#039;m assuming the school is college and it must not be a good one if you still get %26quot;picked on%26quot;, and they didn%26#039;t know there are whites born and raised in Africa. What school is this?

3) Must have been a nice several-month vacation since her parents didn%26#039;t knew she was pregnant when she left. I would think it%26#039;s kinda hard to hide after the 3rd or 4th month. What kinda work did your grandparents do to get such nice vacations?

4) Passports are portable... you don%26#039;t need to invite these people home to show it to them. Didn%26#039;t you think of that?

Man, answering this question just gave me several questions of my own to ask. I%26#039;m so confused...
Reply:A former neighbor of ours is a white man from Africa. He was born to missionary parents.

Either they will or won%26#039;t believe you and don%26#039;t worry if they don%26#039;t. I always tell my kids that it%26#039;s OK to let someone be wrong.
Reply:Sounds like a good book to me. I assume your mom was about 15-17 when she had you and put your birth when? about 1977 or so? Why did your family go to africa for so long? Sounds fascinating to me.
Reply:Just ignore those bastards who have nothing better to do. You don%26#039;t need them.
Reply:that just goes to show the ignorance of some people.
Reply:Those people are idiots. I know quite a few African Americans who are white people. They are from Cape Town. I also know a lot of black people who are not African American--they are from Trinidad and Tobago and object to being referred to as %26quot;African American.%26quot;

This whole notion of identifying oneself as %26quot;african%26quot; by skin color, even though they, their parents, and their grandparents have never been to Africa is just idiotic.

Don%26#039;t bother trying to educate those who insist on being ignorant.
